This is an Internet Explorer browser
extension that spell checks text input boxes on a webpage. It should
come in particularly handy for users who do a lot of web-based text
entry (e.g. web mails, forums, blogs, diaries). You get to store and
use your personal word list across all your applications, instead of
maintaining separate ones on each application.

interface that lets users store their passwords in a database. Users

algorithm. The program's security has been thoroughly verified by Counterpane
Labs under the supervision of Bruce Schneier, author of Applied Cryptography
and creator of the Blowfish algorithm.
If you're looking for a solid
way to lock down your computer from unauthorized users then this may
be your solution. CompuSec performs its magic by installing in the boot
sector of your hard drive and requiring a password during boot up. CompuSec
will have you create two security disks during installation that you
can use in case you forget the password to your system, however, don't
lose the disks or you won't be able to get into the hard drive because
the disks are unique to your computer. It also allows you to encrypt
your hard drive during installation so that if someone removes the hard
drive and attempts to access your information on another machine they
wont be able to do so.
Another free firewall very similar
to ZoneAlarm. It too is free for personal use and functions much the
same way as ZoneAlarm. When an application requests to send or receive
information over the internet the firewall will open a box to allow
the user to grant or deny the operation before it allows the application
to proceed. Microsoft recently listed Kerio Personal Firewall as one
of the firewalls recommended to prevent the spread of the Blaster worm.
Use this to point to a color on
the screen and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values
of that color. You can then use these values to reproduce the selected
color in your favorite programs. Pixie will also show the current x-y
position of your mouse pointer. Its the only tool you'll need for working
with colors. A nice tool for web site and graphics designers.

with integrated file browser, favorites, customizable toolbar and color
coded file listings. IZArc can also be used to create self-extracting

HTTrack is an open source offline
browser utility. It allows you to download an entire web site to a local
directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images,
and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the
original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the mirrored
website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link,
as if you were viewing it online.
Owners of digital cameras will
appreciate this application. Exifer allows the user to manage the metadata
(EXIF/IPTC) of pictures taken by digital cameras. Because many image
processing programs destroy this metadata when saving files, the idea
was to create a backup of the metadata before editing it in any software,
and then, after that to restore it back into the processed file.
dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC),
is one of those must have utilities, indispensable for converting audio

Autoclave is a hard drive sterilization
utility which fits on a bootable floppy. Let's say you want to sell
your old computer, but you don't want folks reading all your old email
or getting your bank account numbers. What do you do? Reformat the drive?
It took me less than a minute of searching google to find a company
which sells a utility specifically for recovering data from drives which
have been reformatted or hit by viruses. It can perform simple zeroing
and can also overwrite the hard drive with specific patterns which exercise
all the bits on the drive, making it extremely difficult to recover
anything at all.

Have you ever wanted to check your spelling before you submit the form? Now you can! Another
nice feature is the ability to store and use a personal word list. WordWeb is also built
so you can use it in applications other than a web browser.
If you are a software developer and would like to create a video tutorial then CamStudio
may be what you're looking for. It allows the user to record screen activity and then
encode it into an AVI file which can be played back with Windows Media Player and any
third party aplication that support the AVI format.
Use this to backup your DVD collection. It works by reading the DVD sector by sector and then
allows you to burn the ISO image directly to a DVD-R disk. Most people who own CD's and
DVD's know that it doesn't take much to ruin this type of media, so it's nice to have
a tool to make a personal backup. Just don't use it for illegal purposes!

on the link next to that codec and you will be taken directly to the website where you
can download the necessary files.
